Tom Grieve Challenges Dallas Sports Radio Listeners

I am thrilled to announce Tom Grieve, the former Major League ball player and General Manager of the Texas Rangers, has come on board Strike Out Kids Cancer Foundation to challenge Dallas sports radio listeners to support our work to bring baseball to kids with cancer and other medical conditions.

I started this group with a lot of help when I was 12, but we have made a difference in countless lives and if I can do that playing baseball or any other sport, let’s get on the field.

The nonprofit I started is hoping to raise $25,000 for North Texas Giving Day this year and I am confident with Mr. Grieve on board we are off to a good start. A second donor has offered up a Dallas Cowboys team autographed football to be given to a donor chosen at random.

Mr. Grieve was drafted as an Outfielder into Major League Baseball by the Washington Senators and played in Washington along with the Texas Rangers, New York Mets, and St. Louis Cardinals. He would later serve as General Manager of the team and as a color commentator for the broadcast team also.

Grieve is well known throughout the community and his son, Ben, was the second overall selection making them the first Father-Son combination both drafted in the first round of the Major League Draft.
