Opening Day: Texas baseball is back. This past week we started off our Non-District games against North Garland High School.

They put up a good fight but eventually we came out on top. Kudos to them and all the work they have put in to get ready for the start of this season.

It was great seeing familiar faces and competing the whole game.

To top it off I got to come in and close out the game away in the 7th with two strike outs.

It was a great first game, but like every Opening Day – it reminds me of the kids who don’t get to play baseball. I think about my friend Ben. He is ten years cancer free and in a couple weeks we’re celebrating that on the field. Right now I feel lucky that I get to play baseball and hope I can inspire others.

Opening Day Statistics

This was not the best start, but baseball is about adjustments. It reminds us we are all a work in progress.
